Louise Gaddy Penland, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Brian Center Health & Rehabilitation. Mrs. Penland was born August 18, 1935 to the late Finn and Rosa Wyatt Gaddy. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Carmel C. Penland; three great grandchildren, six sisters and three brothers. She was a member of Mount Sheba Baptist Church and retired from Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation.

She is survived by her children; Rhonda Estel (Roger), Steven Penland (Peggy) and Melissa Sumner (Aaron); grandchildren, Jody Chandler (Melody), Brandi Tweed (Jason), Natalie Carter (Brent), Brittany Cedeno (Adam), Nathan Sumner (Tina), Jason Penland (Bessie) and Quentin Penland (Megan); sixteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

A funeral service will be held on 3:00PM Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Mt. Sheba Baptist Church. Reverends Steve Rhinehart, Charles Rogers and grandson Nathan Sumner will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Allen Rash officiating the committal service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church .
