IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lucille
Carver
May 30, 1941 – October 1, 2024
Lucille Carver, 83, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2024. She was and was born May 30, 1941 in Madison County to the late Julius and Mae Rice.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Carver; daughter, Sandra Wilson; sister, Virginia Graham; and daughter-in-law, Lisa Bradburn.
Left to honor and cherish her memory are her siblings, LJ Rice (Brenda); Truman Rice (Susan); her children, Ricky Carver, Deborah Roberts, Vickie Rice (Bryan); son-in-law, Larry Shelton; bonus daughter, Jewel Richardson; grandchildren, Jason Cutshall (Heather), Wesley Cutshall, Delia & Gabby Mucino, Kenny and Joe Don Wilson, Holly Rice (Tubbs), Kayla and Peanut Rice, Chastiva Weatheroy; great grandchildren, Noah Wilson, Landon Cutshall, Jaxson Chandler, Dj Wilson, Amaziah Weatheroy, and Jabari Henderson.
Lucille, also fondly known as "mommy", "nanny", "Lucy", and "Lou", loved the Lord with her whole heart and was a long time member of Redeemed Baptist Church. She prayed many prayers for her family and friends and went home with the faith that those prayers would be answered. Every morning you would find her listening to The Primitives singing, "When the Sun of Life Goes Down." Everyone who met her loved her. Her smile and laugh were infectious. Before her health declined you would see her at the Wagon Wheel, rolling silverware and greeting everyone that came in the door or at the Ski Lodge, sitting by the fire and helping in the kitchen. Spending time with her family was the most important thing to her, so just imagine the celebration when she walked through those gates and saw her loved ones waiting there… "She's Home!" She wrote on a little note pad, 2 Corinthians 5:1-8, a few days ago. Verse 8 says, "We are confident I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord".
Mommy, we will miss you so much but knowing that you are with Jesus brings peace to our hearts. You were ready to go home, but we were not ready for you to leave. We love you and will see you soon!
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday October 5, 2024, at Redeemed Baptist Church. Reverends Wade Rice and Bryan Rice will officiate. Burial will follow in the Laurelton Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 pm prior to the service at the church.
Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.blueridgefuneralservice.org.
