Lucille Worley Metcalf, 89, of Mars Hill, passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2021. She was born May 30, 1932, in Madison County. She was the daughter of the late Edward Burnett and Ina Mae Buckner Worley. In addition to her parents, Lucille is preceded in death by her husband, who died in 1993, Elmer Metcalf; two brothers, Jake and Claude Worley; and a sister, Belva Worley Metcalf. She was a member of East Fork Freewill Baptist Church.

Lucille is survived by her three sisters, Eloise Wilson of Barnardsville, Rosalee Hutchins of Asheville, and Pauline Melton of Fletcher; two brothers, Kenneth Worley of Asheville, and Albert Worley of Barnardsville; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11am Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverends Scotty Cole and Ken Parker will officiate. Burial will follow in Chambers Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 10-11am Wednesday, at the funeral home.
