IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lucille
Pack
October 16, 1944 – April 10, 2025
Lucille Pack left peacefully from her earthly home to begin her life in her eternal heavenly home on April 10, 2025. After a long fight with genetic kidney disease, Lucille was ready when God called her home.
She was predeceased by her parents Rev. Edd Shelton and Viola Carver Shelton, brothers – Harold and Harlon Shelton, and a sister Louise Shelton Kehoe. She is survived by her husband of nearly 64 years, Britton Pack, who took excellent care of her until her death; her daughter, Kathy (John Hill), and her son Brent Pack. She is also survived by two sisters, Joyce (Arvol Coates) and Jean (Mike Freeman), as well as two special sisters-in-law, Nellie Shelton and Frances Hensley (Ron). In addition, she is survived by her grandson, Johnathan Hill and his wife Kerry, her great grandchildren whom she adored, Gianna and Gauge Hill. Also surviving are step grandson, Daniel Hill and wife Tiffany, and step great grandson, Jaxon.
Lucille was a lifelong member of Laurel Chapel Baptist Church, and was faithful in attending church and playing the piano until her illness forced her to stay home. Her relationship with the Lord was important to her, and she used her illness to witness to all the doctors and nurses about the importance of salvation. She told them about the rapture, hoping she was alive when the Lord called up the church.
Visitation with the family will be held on Monday, April 21, 2025, from 4 to 6 pm, with the funeral service following at 6 pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Service, 7626 Hwy 213, Mars Hill, NC 28754. Burial will be held at 9:00 am on Tuesday, April 22 in the Shook Cemetery at Upper Laurel Baptist Church.
The family loves and appreciates Aunts Frances, Joyce, and Nellie, who stayed with Lucille during the day while Britton was in the hospital so Kathy could be with Britton during the day.
The family thanks Dr. Brian England and Dr. Word-Sims (retired) from Mountain Kidney, who helped Lucille manage her kidney disease for her best quality of life, Dr. Don Jackson (retired) and staff at Advent Infusion Center, and Madison Hospice, especially Paige, Cindy, and DeeDee who cared for Lucille with patience and concern.
Flowers are welcomed and appreciated, or memorials can be made to Madison Hospice, 590 Medical Drive, Marshall, NC 28753.
