Lucille Ramsey Thomas, 96, passed away peacefully surrounded by love and gratitude for a life beautifully lived. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Lucille's gentle heart and steady spirit left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her.

Born in Buncombe County, North Carolina, in the Flat Creek community, Lucille grew up with strong mountain roots and deep appreciation for family and faith. She was the beloved wife of the late Ernest Thomas, with whom she shared many years of love, laughter, and steadfast partnership. Together, they built a home filled with warmth, respect and devotion.

Lucille was a loving and dedicated mother to Breida, David and Larry, who were her greatest joy. She was also the proud grandmother to 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She worked hard all her life, giving freely of her time, her care, and her heart. Her kindness was a quiet strength that guided her family and uplifted all who came into her life.

Lucille loved to travel and visit with family and friends, cherishing every opportunity to spend time with those she loved most. Whether gathering everyone together for a big Sunday dinner, telling stories, or taking trips with her senior friends, she found joy in connection and beauty of everyday moments.

In recent years, Lucille made her home at Madison Manor Rehabilitation Center, where she received excellent care and heartfelt compassion from the staff. Her family extends deep gratitude for their dedication and kindness.

Lucille's life was a reflection of love in its truest form-patient, giving, and filled with grace. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will continue to shine through the lives of her family and friends.

A service will be held at 2:00pm Friday, October 10, 2025 at Blue Ridge Funeral and Cremation Service, to celebrate her life and the many blessings she shared with those around her. Reverends Junior Hensley and Larry Thomas will officiate the service. The burial will follow in the Mars Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
