Luther Sawyer, 83, of Mars Hill passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021, at Elderberry Health Care in Marshall. He was the son of the late Stokley and Grace Buckner Sawyer. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister: Edith Brown and a brother: Willard Sawyer. Luther was a lifelong resident of Madison County and a US Army Veteran.

Luther is survived by his son, Darrell Sawyer (Alana); a grandson, Hunter Sawyer; niece, Pam Luther (Rick); nephew, Allen Sawyer (Barbara); and two great nephews, Corey and Jeffrey Sawyer.

A graveside service will be held at 4:00PM Saturday, October 2, 2021,at Gabriel's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors.
