Mack Rathbone, 69 of Kirks Drive, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018 at John F. Keever Solace Center. He was a native of Madison County and son of the late Johnny and Roberta Mae Rogers Rathbone. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by an infant son, Johnny Mack Rathbone; sister, Geneva Rathbone and a brother, Leslie Rathbone. He is survived by his wife, Ethel Payne Rathbone; daughters, Denise Dorn (Joey), Roberta Weatherby (Stan) and Samantha Rathbone; sons, Gavin and Thomas Rathbone; sisters, Rosie Mae Moody and Kathy Correll; brothers, Tom Rathbone (Kathy), Mal Rathbone (Virginia) and Kem Fortheny (Donna); eight grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other family members. A funeral service will be held 11:00am Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Flats of Spring Creek Baptist Church, with Reverends Joey Dorn and Martin Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in the New Flats of Spring Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 – 8 PM Wednesday, April 4 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service.
