Martha M. Bailey, 88, of Mars Hill, NC, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday March 12, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Carter Emerson and Annis Shook Metcalf.

She enjoyed gardening and feeding the birds. She attended Faith Baptist Church in Tennessee.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 66 years, Joe Bailey; children, Randy Bailey and Ruth Bailey Plemmons (Luke); grandchildren, Cassie Plemmons (Nathan), and Ethan Plemmons; brother, Marvin Metcalf; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks to Marsha Boyd, Carolyn Ponder and Freddie Wallin; as well as Care Partners Hospice for the care they gave to Martha.

A funeral service will be held at 1pm Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral & Cremation Service. Reverend Shane Cassida will officiate. Burial will follow in the English-Metcalf Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
