Marvel "Cotton" Norton, 65, of Marshall, NC passed away on January 30, 2026 at his home in Marshall. Marvel was born on November 3, 1960 to Matthew and Minnie Norton in Madison, North Carolina.

He is preceded in death by siblings, Ellen Johnson, Helen Worley, Betty Langford and Pauline Gosnell, Jack, Grady and William "Bud" Norton.

He is survived by five children, Kaitlyn Wofford, Matt Norton, Shawn Cutshaw, Daniel Gonzalez, and James Norton; three grandchildren, Dixie Norton, Jenna Norton, and Kaden Norton; siblings, Florence Sanford, Louise Baynard, Dova Worley, Judy Wallin, Wanda Worley, Steve, Frank, his twin Orville "Baldy"and Anthony Norton a special niece, Misty Lesley, along with several other nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, February 14, 2026 in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral & Cremation Service. Burial will follow in the Norton Cemetery, 37 Jack Drive, Marshall, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home.
