Mary Bullman Norton, 88, of Bullman Drive, formerly of Mt. Carmel Rd., Asheville, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2024. She was born at home in Madison County and was the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson and Polly Chandler Bullman. Mary and her late husband Joseph Lee, while serving our country, have lived in San Diego, CA, Bremerton, WA, Fallon, NV, San Diego, CA, Honolulu, HI, Pensacola, FL, Chattanooga, TN, and Asheville, NC, and she was a member of Temple Baptist Church of Asheville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Lee Norton; sisters, Pauline Chandler, Evelyn Gosnell, and Dorothy Chandler; and brothers, Claude and Joe Bullman.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Victoria Norton Lanning (Brent); two sons, Michael Douglas and Scott Norton; a sister, Christine Jackson (Raymond); grandchildren, Crystal Norton, Scottie Norton, Caleb Baliles (Allie), Sarah Norton, Hillary King (Andrew), Preston and Felicity Lanning; 10 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 12pm Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral & Cremation Service. Reverends Mark Bullman and Patrick Creed will officiate. Burial will follow in the Bullman Cemetery, Marshall, NC. The family will receive friends from 11am-12pm Thursday, prior to the service.

Mary was a loving mother and grandmother, who always put her family first. She will be extremely missed by everyone that knows her.
