Mary Loraine Rector Phillips, 83, of Mars Hill, passed away Friday, August 7, 2020, at her home. She is the daughter of the late Franklin "Bill" and Virgie Sprinkle Rector. In addition to her parents Loraine is also preceded in death by her husband, Tom Phillips; sisters, Faye Rector, Wilma Shelton, and Blanche Chambers; brothers, Blake, Frank, and Fred Rector. She was a member of Terry's Fork Freewill Baptist Church.

Loraine is survived by her daughters, Audrey Wheeler (Gene), Patricia Phillips (John), and Williaree Ward (Greg); son, Farrell Phillips (Elaine); sister, Glada Shelton (Buck); brother, Terrill Rector (Linda); grandchildren, Terry Wheeler, Tristan Blevins (Kendra), Brooke Roberts (Matthew), Kimber Ward, and Trevor and Tommy Phillips; two great grandchildren, Averi Blevins and Kason Roberts; special aunt, Donnie Honeycutt; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 1pm Monday, August 10, 2020, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverend Joe George and Jerry Sprinkle will officiate. Burial will follow in the Anderson Cemetery. The family will receive friends 4-6pm Sunday at the funeral home.
