Matthew Payne, 37, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at his home in Barnardsville. He was a native of Buncombe County and son of Robert and Dottie Reece Payne. In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife, Selina Sluder Payne; daughters, Laura Rich (Brandon) and Ann Holcombe; sisters, Tammy Arrowood (Roger), Tina Chandler and Rebecca Honeycutt (Mark); brother, Mark Payne; grandchildren, Isabella Rich, and Ashley Gaston. Matthew is further survived by nieces and nephews; Brittney Tipton, Samantha Banks, Chad Chandler, Allison Chandler, Jaxon Dillingham and Dalton Honeycutt.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, April 14, 2017 at the Payne Family Cemetery with Rev. Dean Metcalff officiating.
