Mr. Max Shelton, 90, of Marshall, NC passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, September 17, 2022. He was the son of the late Coatney and Zenoba Franklin Shelton. Max was also preceded in death by five brothers: Louis, Rex, Ralph, Tom, and Frank Shelton; four sisters: Grace S. Hensley, Bethel Shelton, Pansy Tarlton, and an infant baby girl. Max was a logger and owned and operated Shelton and Shelton Logging Company before retiring.

Surviving Max are his wife: Revonda Hensley Shelton; one sister: Effie Worley; two sons: J.B. Shelton and Allen Shelton; three grandchildren: Jeremy Shelton, Annajean Shelton, and Henry Clark; three great grandchildren: Isaac Shelton, Caleb Shelton, and Preslee Shelton; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate Max's life will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at 1:00pm at Bakers Creek Church of God in the Spillcorn community with the Preachers Eddie Roberts and Jason Shelton officiating. The Shelton family will receive friends from 12:00pm until 1:00pm at the church prior to the service.
