Emerson English, 93, passed away on Friday July 25, 2025. Born on May 6,1932 to the late Fred and Pearl Metcalf English. He was a U.S Army Veteran serving during the Korean War and was stationed at Ft. Lee in Virginia. Emerson was a Dairy Farmer for 40 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Frances Ledford and Mary Joyce Crawford.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Wanda Briggs English; his daughter, Pam Gregg (Andy); son, Eric English; grandchildren, Ivy Gregg Payne (Thad), Laurel Gregg Richmond (BJ), Corey English (Daniela), Derek English (Rachel); great-grandchildren, Brooks Payne, Isabelle Richmond, Cooper Payne, Boomer Richmond, Axel English.

A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on July 29, 2025 at Mars Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm on Monday July 28, 2025 at Blue Ridge Funeral and Cremation Service with Brother Eddie Fox officating.

The family would like to thank everyone who assisted Emerson on his Dairy Farm and a special thanks to Elderberry Health and Rehab and Madison Home Care for their compassionate care of Mr. English.
