Michael Dean Metcalf, 66, of Alexander, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, May 30, 2020.

Michael was born on June 18, 1953 to his late parents, John "Bobby" and Betty Flasher Metcalf. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Dean Metcalf and a brother, Roger Dale Metcalf.

Michael loved fishing, camping, playing cornhole and Bluegrass music. He was a hard-working, family man who loved making time for all his grandchildren.

He is survived by the love of his life of 48 years, Wanda Fisher Metcalf; a daughter, Amanda Hensley (Jeremy) of Mars Hill, a son, Travis Metcalf of Alexander; six grandchildren, Polly Brooke Metcalf (Josh Vandevander), Chandler, Harrison and Whitney Hensley, Dylan and Lily Metcalf; two great-granddaughters, Serena and Chloe Vandevander, and a brother, Robert Metcalf(Rosie) of Marshall.

A funeral service will be held 2:00PM Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Funeral with Pastor Dustin Grooms officiating. Burial will follow in the Bruce-Metcalf Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8PM Tuesday evening in the funeral home.
