Michael Edward Swann, 59, of Mitchell County, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2026. He spent most of his life in Madison County, where his heart remained. Michael was the son of the late Kenneth Edward and Virginia Anderson Swann. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Gary, Bruce, and Toby Swann.

Michael loved nature and was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He was most proud of his family and dedicated his life to them. He was a loving husband, father and papaw and a best friend to his kids.

Michael is survived by his wife, Jennifer Young Swann, children, Celeste Christopher (Dillon), Ashley Moore (Brandon), Logan Swann, and Kendall Swann, granddaughter, Ella Dare Christopher.

A funeral service will be held at 1pm Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverend Ronald Dodson will officiate. A private family burial will follow.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donation may be made in Michael's memory to Blue Ridge Funeral Service, PO Box 27, Mars Hill, NC 28754, to assist the family with final expenses.
