Milton received his PhD in psychology from Duke University before embarking on a varied and eclectic career path, spending time as a professor, a dean, an art dealer and gallery owner, and finally a dedicated project manager for a major pipeline company. He was a New Yorker by birth, but traveled extensively throughout his life, residing in California, Missouri, North Carolina, Washington DC, and Paris, France. He spent many years in Durham NC before retiring to the Blue Ridge Mountains in Madison County thirteen years ago.
