Monella Phillips Northup, 83, passed away Saturday, May 15, 2021. Mrs. Northup was born October 7, 1937 to the late Spurgeon and Joyce Norton Phillips. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Thomas Northup; sister, Roxie Phillips and brothers, John and Ernest Phillips.

She is survived by her daughter, Maxie Alexander (Gilbert); son, Alan Stanley (Faye); 6 grandchildren, Johnny Mullins, Colleen Johnson, Jason Stanley, Melissa Whaley, Leslie Jackson and Lisa Parker; 19 great grandchildren and 2 great- great grandchildren; nephew, Analo Phillips; niece, Mary Woods and a special friend Margaret Lewis.

A funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Fletcher First Baptist Church with the Rev. Roy Waldroup officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30- 2:00 pm at the Church. Burial will follow in Meadow Gap Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff at Four Seasons Hospice for the great care they provided to Mrs. Northup in her final days.
