Saltillo – Mrs. Willie Jo Sprinkle Wilde, 78. passed away, Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born and raised in Madison County, NC, to James and Margaret Sprinkle. She was married to Dwight (D.H.) Wilde on October 14, 1961, at Old Bull Creek Church in Marshall (Madison Co), NC, and they spent 50 years together before his death December 6, 2012. She was a member of Old Bull Creek Baptist Church in Marshall, NC. Jo worked as a bookkeeper, employed by Jack Pastis Construction where she retired after many years of service. Her hobbies were sewing and working jigsaw puzzles; she also enjoyed staying touch with her high school graduation class members.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Wilde; daughter, Cynthia Bond, and by sisters, Patricia Johnston, Lois Hensley, Jamie Lou Partenheimer, and Naomi Sams.
She is survived by her daughter, Elaine Griffin; sons, Mark Wilde and Freddie Wilde (Patty), all of Saltillo; sisters, Lula Belle (Jim), Sarah Faye Ledbetter (Buddy); brothers, Merritt Lee Sprinkle (Tama) and James Sprinkle (Sandy); five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside memorial service will be held 4:00pm August 25, 2108 at Old Bull Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Marshall, NC with Eddie Fox officiating. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.blueridgefuneralservice.org
