Okley Z. Ammons, 93 of NC 213 passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at his residence. He was a native of Madison County and son of the late Pender and Jerilee Merrell Ammons. Mr. Ammons was a Navy Veteran and a self-employed electrical contractor for many homes in Madison and surrounding Counties. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Mable Peek Ammons; sister, Vada Lee Frisbee; and brother, Hal D. Ammons. He is survived by his daughters, Sheila Ammons of Weaverville, N.C. Patty Ammons of Cary, N.C. and son Dale Ammons and wife Karen of East Greenbush, NY. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, October 16, 2015 in Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverend Carl Robinson and Brother Eddie Fox will officiate. Burial will follow in the Old Bull Creek Baptist Church Cemetery of which he was a member. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday, October 15, at the funeral home.
