Patricia Ann Johnson Lanning, age 68, of Arden, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023. She was born August 13, 1954, in Buncombe County to the late Earl and Bobbie Wilkey Johnson.

Patricia was a member of Gospel Baptist Church, and enjoyed serving God, feeding the needy, and helping others when possible. She was passionate about crafting and loved to sing. Her favorite memories were singing as a family and going to singings at church and traveling. Patricia's greatest life lesson was knowing there is nothing impossible with God. He cares for all our needs.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Grant Lanning; daughters, Denise Thomas (Ken), Tanya Thomas (Ricky), Carol Bass (Josh); son, Tommy Lanning (Brandi); sister, Nancye Justice (Billy); brother, Johnny Johnson (Tina); 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

The family will have a celebration of her life at 12:00 pm Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Gospel Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Littrell officiating. A eulogy will be given by Tommy Lanning. The family will receive friends 11:00 am – 12:00 pm prior to the service at the church.

Private burial will be in the Gospel Tabernacle Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Blue Ridge Funeral Service to assist the family with funeral expenses.
