IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patricia
Ramey
June 10, 1938 – July 7, 2021
Mrs. Pat Ramey, musician, artist, and grandmother died at age 83 on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at Madison Health and Rehabilitation Center in Mars Hill, NC. Born in Chagrin Falls, OH to the late Frank B. Robb and Vivian E. Brown Robb. Pat grew up in Ohio and California, always near the water. At age 19 she met and married her first husband William A Owen of Bristol, TN. After having three children and living in Bristol, Pat and Bill parted ways and Pat moved to Asheville, NC where she met William Ramey and they were married in 1992.
All of Pat's life she played, listened to, and encouraged music in her home and everywhere else. Pat was always eager to volunteer to play music at nursing homes, festivals, church services, weddings, or anywhere someone needed the brightness music can bring.
Pat was not only a musician. She was also an accomplished watercolor artist. She always said that if you made a mistake while painting a landscape, you could always make a bird out of it! Patricia was a true optimist.
During her marriage to William Ramey, Pat and William explored the country, going to as many festivals, national parks, and on as many cruises as they could together. Pat was happiest when playing music with William listening or watching her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren play music.
Patricia is preceded in death by her mother Vivian, her father Frank, her stepmother Jean, her sister Barbara and stepson Matthew Ramey.
Pat is survived by her husband William Ramey of Hot Springs, NC, daughter Susan Owen of Canada, son Kelly Owen of Asheville, NC, daughter Stella Owen (Geoff Chasin) of Brookline, MA, grandchildren Alex Fox (Danielle) of Austin, TX, Nancy Elliott (Daniel) of San Antonio, TX, Isla Chasin of Brookline, MA, and great grandchildren Oakley Fox, Julian Fox, Matthew Fox and Madison Elliott, and stepchildren David, and Samuel Ramey.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 11, 2021, at 2:00pm at Fines Creek Memorial Baptist Church in Clyde, NC with the Rev. James Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm prior to the funeral on Sunday.
