Paul Henry Hudson, 64, of Weaverville, passed from this world to his eternal heavenly home on October 24, 2025, at Mission Hospital. He was the son of the late John Henry and Ruth Rose Chandler Hudson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Lola Cutshaw; aunt, Frances Chandler; uncles, Everett "Tom" Chandler, Lonnie Chandler, Denver Cutshaw and his wife Jeanne, and Joe Chandler; nephew, Anthony Ramsey; great niece, Lola Ramsey; brothers-in-law, Lonnie Payne, and Lawrence Griffee.

He is survived by his sisters, Joyce P. Griffee and Rose Rice, and husband Clayton of the home; nephews, John Payne and wife Teresa, Robert Payne, Chris Payne and wife Jamie, Jeff Ramsey and Sandy; great niece, Sarah Payne; great nephews, Ethen Ramsey, Jacob Ramsey and Isaac Payne.

He worked for NC DOT and with his buddy, Harlon Chandler, in HVAC until he became disabled. Paul went through a lot of trials and troubles here on earth but always seemed to come out on top. Paul was a member of Easter Gap Baptist Church but attended Ponder Chapel.

The last hour and forty-five minutes of his life his eyes were looking upward toward things not of this earth and there was a peace about him he didn't have when he was struggling to breathe. We sat by his side and held his hand and toward the end we told him it was okay to go on and be with Mommie. He had mourned her death since her passing in 2020. His passing was peaceful but oh, so heartbreaking.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Ponder Chapel Church, 21 Rollins Road, Marshall, NC at 1:00 PM with Reverends Charles English and Harlon Chandler officiating. Singing will be provided by Malcolm, Michael, and Brian Buckner.

There will be a meal following the service provided by the church in the fellowship hall. Burial will take place in The Rice Cove Cemetery following.
