Ray Sidney Wheeler, age 76, of Leicester, passed away on February 27, 2024. He was born on March 4, 1947, in Madison County, to the late Robert and Wilma Melton Wheeler.

Ray was a US Army Veteran and served in Vietnam. He was a loving man who was devoted to his family, friends, and country.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Teddy, Scott and Kermit Wheeler.

Ray is survived by his wife, Brenda Arwood Wheeler; daughter, Malisa White (Floyd Stephenson); son, Chris Wheeler (Kelley); sister, Diane Sumner (Greg); brother, Rocky Wheeler (Linda); 4 grandchildren, Ashton White, Alli White (Ronnie), Sara Wheeler (Brian), and Adam Wheeler; 3 great grandchildren, Dillon, Alexis, and A.J.; numerous loving in-laws, nieces, and nephews as well as special friends, Jeff and Cindy Phillips.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 3, 2024, in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral and Cremation Service. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
