Regenia Darline Chandler Young, 70, of Weaverville passed away Saturday, December 23, 2023 at her home. She was a native of Madison County, graduated from Mars Hill High School and moved to Buncombe County. Regenia was the daughter of the late Oval and Jessie Smith Chandler. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by a sister, Ona Young, and a brother Roy D. Chandler. She attended Oak Ridge Baptist Church.

Regenia is survived by her husband, Lawrence Young; son, Jeff English (Anna); stepdaughters, Janet Curtis, and Lisa Young; stepson, Roger Young (Kris); sisters, Elaine Harwood, Sandra Kay Smeltzer, and Debra Carter; brother, Elvert Chandler; grandchildren, Matthew Young (Haley), Miranda and Meredith Teague and Sara Young; one great granddaughter, Chesney Young; and special niece, Jessica Chandler.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverend Larry Sprouse will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Sheba Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
