Regina Blair Bishop, 41, of Marshall, went to her Heavenly home unexpectedly on Friday, June 20, 2025 at Mission Hospital. She was a bright soul, especially in her job as a nurse at the Madison County Jail where she earned the name "Nurse Gina".

She is preceded in death by her father, James "Freddie" Bishop; grandparents, Ed and Inez Payne; and grandmother, Pauline Snyder.

Regina is survived by her mother, Rosalind Payne Bishop; daughter, Gracy Parker (Cody); sister, Julie Worley (Johnny); nieces, Jaycee and Jade Worley; uncles, Ronnie Bishop, Kenneth Payne (Brenda), Emory Payne (Ruby); and aunt, Connie Miller.

Regina was the calm of chaos which she excelled in as a jail nurse. Compassion for others was her biggest strength both with nursing and disaster relief work. Her goofy personality was always shining through even in the chaos.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm on Wednesday June 25, 2025 in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverends Kenneth Payne, Dan Anglin, and Cody Reece will officiate. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

At other times, the family will be at the home: 258 Payne Road, Marshall, NC 28753.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Blue Ridge Funeral and Cremation Service to assist with final expenses.
