Rev. Eugene Stump, 73, of Burnsville, NC, went home to be with the Lord, September 24th, 2022. He was preceded in death by his father, Claude Stump; mother, Gladys Boyd Stump English; brother, William Lewis "Junior" Stump; sister, Kathy Stump Hensley; and daughter, Sharon Stump Sprinkle.

He loved to preach, attend church, and listen to bluegrass gospel music.

Eugene is survived by his wife, Geraldine Stump; sons, Kevin Stump and wife Angie, Marcus Stump and wife Nancy: brothers; Rev. Kenny Stump and wife, Doris; Chester "Buddy" Stump; sister, Janie Hensley and husband, David. Sister-in-law; Betty Stump. Five grandchildren; Amanda Stump Davis and husband Tony, Jacob Stump and wife Taylor, Jonathan Sprinkle, Nathan Sprinkle, and Caleb Dellinger; as well as four great grandchildren; Jonah Miller, Arizona Davis, Logan Davis, and Oliver Stump.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, in Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverends Brad Willis and Wayne Rice will officiate the service. The family will receive friends the night before the service on Monday, September 26, 2022, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. A private graveside service will be held at the Stump Family Cemetery on Shepherd Branch.

The family will gather at the home of Kevin Stump on Fox Creek Church Rd in Mars Hill.
