Richard Copeland age 89, of Wentzville, Mo. died Friday May 21, 2021. He was born on July 28, 1931 in DeSoto, Mo. He retired from teaching with the Seminole County School system in Florida. He loved golfing, singing in church choirs, coaching, cooking, the Smokey Mountains, and his family. Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, JoAnn Nesbitt Copeland, his parents Frank and Delma Copeland; sister, Mildred Wigger, and grandson Glenn David Hill, Jr.
Survivors include daughters and sons in law; Cheryl and Glenn Hill and Cindy and Alan Ariel, grandchildren; Sarah Jo and Jay Brown, Rebekah and Scott Murray, Lorrel and Brandon Hyde, Jennifer and Joshua Hasty, Katelynn and Braden Lomax, Emily and Tyler Elliott, and Richard Joseph Ariel. And his great grandchildren; whom he adored, Madelynn, Clayton, Caleb, Riley Kate, Anna Grace, Samuel David, Jackson, Cohen, Rosaylnn, Austin Copeland, Gabriel, Joanna, Darcy.
Visitation will be held at Wentzville United Methodist Church in Wentzville, Missouri 63385 on June 5, 2021 at 10:00 am with a Memorial Service to follow at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Nesbitt Cemetery in Nesbitt, Texas.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Madison County, 590 Medical Park Dr, Marshall, NC 28753, or Make-a-Wish America, 1702 E Highland Ave. Suite 400. Phoenix, AZ, 85016.
