Richard "John" Roberts, age 80, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018. He was the son of the late George and Lena Brooks Roberts. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanne Lynn Roberts Sherman; four sisters and four brothers. Mr. Roberts was a US Navy Veteran, member of Jupiter Fire Department and a retired Lt. of Weaverville Fire Department.

He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Roberts; son, Eddie Roberts (Tina); sister, Barbara Bradley; grandchildren, Jonathan Sherman, Scotty Sherman (Jessica), Christina Rotundo (Ryan), Elisha Fisher and Nicole Roberts; great grandchildren, Carson, Canaan, Mackenzie, Cade, David and Ariyah Fisher; several nieces and nephews and special friends, Larry and Rose Jones, Forrest Weaver and the mother of his children, Dorene Roberts.

A funeral service will be held 10:00am Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverends Jerry Jamerson and Woody Dillingham will officiate. Burial will follow in the Longs Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5 -7 pm Monday, November 26, 2018 at Blue Ridge Funeral Service.
