Robert Lee Hyatt, 71, of Weaverville, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021. He was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County and the son of the late Bennie Lee and Bertha Jane Pegg Hyatt. Robert retired from the US Postal Service in 2006, after 32 years and was an US Army veteran, serving in Vietnam. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Robert is survived by his wife, Brenda Goins Hyatt; daughters, Melissa Greene (Danny), Cathy Edmonds (Aaron), and April Clark (Lee); son, Jeremy Hyatt (Terri); sister, Barbara Rice; brother, Vernie Hyatt; nine grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at Elk Mountain Baptist Church, of which he was a member. Reverends Mike Woodard, Bradley Collins, and Harlan Kimball will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Sheba Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
