Robert John Ward, age 93 of Hot Springs, passed away on March 11, 2022. He was born in Union City,

New Jersey on May 19, 1928 to the late George Patrick and Harriet Roser Ward. In addition to his

parents, he is predeceased by sons, Gary and Kevin Ward and a grandson, Scott Hibline. He is a US Navy

Veteran, serving as a Seaman Second Class during WWII also served in the USMC as a Corporal during

the Korean War. He was a greeter at Sam's Club in Asheville from 2004 until 2017.

He is survived by daughters, Cynthia Bathe (Robert) of Marshall, and Cat Miller of Hot Springs;

grandsons, Erick Van Auken, and Ryan Ward; granddaughters, Shannon Ward (Brandon Williams) and

Devyn Ward; 5 great grandchildren, Emma, Sonny, Jackson, Benjamin and Ronin; daughter-in-law, Rose

Ward all of Colorado.

A private burial will be held Thursday, March 17, 2022 at the WNC State Veterans Cemetery, Black

Mountain. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to be made to your local animal shelter.
