Jimmy Robert Wilson, 82, of Weaverville, passed away peacefully at the Solace Center on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. He was born on December 13, 1943, and was the son of the late Grover and Juanita Jarvis Wilson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Junior and Susan Wilson.

Robert had a deep love for farming, teaching, and sharing his knowledge with others. He was passionate about preserving the old-time ways and took great pride in mastering the art of making sorghum syrup (molasses). Affectionately known as the "Mayor of Barnardsville," Robert was well known for his friendly spirit. He worked at D & D Grocery and made many friendships there. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.

Robert is survived by his niece, Cindy Wilson, and his special friends, Tanja Lance, Doug Trusilo, and J. and Sherry Weiland.

A private graveside service will be held with Phillip Emory officiating. Special singers will be the Emory family. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2026 in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home.
