S. Rocky Grooms, 79, of Mars Hill, passed away, June 2, 2026. He was the son of the late Rass and Edith Murray Grooms. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Vanessa Gayle McCoy Grooms and a sister, Jeanette Grooms Wilde.

Rocky is survived by a daughter, Amanda Grooms; nephews, Chris Wilde (Shelley), Tim Wilde (Deborah); great nieces and a great nephew, Allie Wilde, Maria Cantrell and David Wilde, along with longtime friends, Clayton Willis, Ted Roberts and Don Moss.

A graveside service will be held 11:00am Friday, June 5, 2026, at Mars Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Reverend Glen Graves will officiate.
