Roger Waylon
Robinson
May 2, 1950 — Jul 3, 2026
Roger Robinson, 76, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
A lifelong resident of Yancey and Madison Counties, Roger was a member of California Creek Baptist Church. He was a man of strong faith, unwavering values, and a genuine love for people. Roger truly never met a stranger. He loved to laugh, enjoyed teasing his family and friends, and could strike up a conversation with anyone willing to listen. His warm smile and friendly personality made people feel at ease wherever he went.
He was preceded in death by his parents, JF and Willaree Robinson.
Roger had a lifelong passion for hunting, especially whitetail deer and bear. He spent countless hours in the woods. His love for the outdoors carried him on unforgettable hunting adventures throughout the United States, Canada, and Africa-experiences he always enjoyed sharing with others.
Above all, Roger was a devoted husband, father, and Pap. His greatest joy was his family, and he treasured every opportunity to spend time with them, especially his grandchildren.
Roger is survived by his adoring wife, Rhonda; his sons, Jeff (Whitney) and Casey (Chelsea); his ten beloved grandchildren: Tate, Laney, Carly, Tucker, Cash, Cutter, Cooper, Caysley, Haze, and Steely Rae; and his sister Linda.
Roger will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, big heart, and the friendships he built throughout his life. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and countless stories that will continue to be shared by those who knew him best.
He will be deeply missed but forever remembered as a man with a smile on his face, a toothpick in his mouth, a story to tell, and a friend to everyone he met.
