Roxie Mae Huffman passed away on August 31, 2024. Born on March 12, 1933, Roxie was the cherished daughter of the late Sue and Ed Arrington. She was a well-known member of The Madison County Community.
Remembered as a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Friend, Roxie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fred Huffman, her sisters, Lockie and Ledola, and brothers, Claude, Frank, Troy, James, Jim and NA.
Roxie's deepest affection was reserved for her husband, Fred Huffman, to whom she was married for 58 years. Roxie and Fred considered their son, Jimmy Ronald Huffman, to be their greatest achievement. She loved to read books and listen to gospel music. She was a member of Old Bull Creek Baptist Church.
Roxie is survived by her son, Jimmy Ronald Huffman, and his wife, Tamara Huffman, along with her grandchildren Jacey Russell, married to Dallas Russell, Jamey Huffman, married to Haley Huffman, and Colby and Tanner Reed. Roxie also leaves behind her great-grandchildren Waco, Jack, Gavin, and Noah.
We extend heartfelt gratitude to Compassionate Care Hospice of Yancey County and Madison Health and Rehabilitation for the exceptional love and care they provided to Roxie and our family.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday September 3, 2024 in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral and Cremation Service. Reverends Kenneth Pack and Kenneth Huffman will officiate. Burial will follow in the Old Bull Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
