Roy Dale Evans, 69, of 1088 Turkey Branch Road, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2016. He was the son of the late Roney and Lillian Kirkpatrick Evans. In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters. Roy was proud to be a US Navy Veteran and firefighter. He is survived by his wife, Wilma Gail White Evans; a daughter, Brittany Nichole Evans; son, Michael Keith Evans; sisters, Betty Buckner and Ada Messer; step-son, Jason Dean Sams; and grandchildren, McCartney Lillian Evans, Julian Zane and Harrison Todd Miesbauer. A funeral service will be held at 2pm Thursday, October 20, 2016, at Blue Ridge Missionary Baptist Church, of which he was a member. Reverends Billiy Murray, Billy Ferguson and Justin English will officiate. Burial will follow in the Higgins Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
