Roy Warren Shelton, 73, of Swannanoa, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025. He was the son the late William Hayes and Pansy Smith Shelton and a native of Madison County.

In addition to his parents, Roy is preceded in death by a sister, Tina Norton, and a brother, Buddy Shelton.

Roy is survived by his wife, Brenda Lewis Shelton; sons, Matthew Shelton (Edna), Toby Shelton (Kim), Adam Shelton (Brandy), and Randy Shelton (Danielle); sister, Sandra Helton; brother, Gene Shelton (Judy); grandchildren, Andrea, Ross & Levi Shelton, Ava & Cora Shelton, Della & Kelsi Shelton, and Codey Bryant; a great grandchild, Rylan Ross, and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 1pm Friday, September 12, 2025, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral & Cremation Service. Rev. Paul Norton will officiate. Burial will follow in Culvin Creek Community Cemetery.

Roy was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed riding motorcycles. He loved his grandchildren and was proud of all four of his boys.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
