Rev. Roy Lee Shepherd, 80, of Weaverville, went home to be with Jesus on June 22, 2023. He

was born on November 4, 1942, to the late Floyd and Pansy Maney Shepherd. He was also

preceded in death by his brothers, James, Kenneth, Blackwell, Taylor, Mitchell and Walter.

Roy was a minister and a carpenter for most of his life but, more importantly, he was a loving

husband, daddy, and papaw. His legacy is the impact he had on countless lives through the

years.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Ruby; daughters, Teresa (Don), Missie

(Laura), and Anna (Junior); grandchildren, Colby (Nicole), Caleb, Kelsi, Brandon (Taylor), Jayme

(Wesley); great-grands, Raelei, Rilynn, Annalee, Aubree, Reagan, Isabella, Micah, Kaius and

Kennedy; sisters, Phena and Matilda; brother, Jack; special friend, Gene; and a host of other

dear friends.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, July 1,2023 at Piney Mountain Baptist

Church, Weaverville. Reverends Jerry Shelton and Eric Dimsdale will officiate.

The family will receive friends at the church between 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm prior to the service.
