Ruth Anderson Griffin, 83, of Marshall, NC, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 20th, 2025. She was born October 7th, 1941, in Barnardsville, NC, where she grew up. She attended Rabun Gap High School in Georgia and returned home to marry her lifelong partner, living out her life in Marshall. Ruth was a member of Davis Chapel Baptist Church. She was a wonderful gardener and was passionate about growing her garden. She loved her flowers and loved to venture in the mountains. In her earlier years she ran a daycare out of her home. The kids she helped raise still love her to this day. Ruth was a housewife and a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was such a beloved person. Ruth took pride in her family and simple things in life.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Van Griffin; father, Anuel L Anderson; mother, Bertha LaGrace Harwood Anderson; brothers, Mack, Cody Bill and Andy Anderson; sisters, Lulu and Lottie Anderson, Georgie Anderson Sells, Joann Anderson Holcombe and Jean Anderson.

Ruth is survived by her children, Jan Griffin, Toby Griffin (Teresa) and Keith Griffin (Jessica); grandchildren, Levi Griffin (Cassie), Jordan Griffin, Savannah Ramsey Pless (Issac), Katlin Griffin, Olivia Newkirk and Sage Griffin; 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and family from 1:00-2:00pm Monday, August 25, 2025, at Blue Ridge Funeral and Cremation Service. A gravedside will follow in the City Cemetery in Marshall.
