Sandra "Sandy" Elaine Rector Waldroup, 70, of 5 Squirrel Ridge Drive, Weaverville, was called home by the Lord, July 26, 2024. She was a native of Haywood County and the daughter of the late Willard "Doc" Yoder Rector and Julia Ann Price. Sandy became a Master Gardener of Asheville and working in her beautiful yard was her passion. She had a heart of gold and loved her family, friends and animals, especially her little dog, Babe. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Roger Rector.

Sandra is survived by her husband, Ed Waldroup; daughters, Sabrina Waldroup McAlister and Sonya Waldroup (Keith); grandkids, Robby and Tessa McAlister and Jayson Christopher.

A funeral service will be held 12:00pm Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral and Cremation Service. Reverend Leonard Cole will officiate. The burial will follow in the Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
