Shirley Radford Banks, age 85, passed away on January 8, 2024. She was born on January 16, 1938, in Madison County to the late Homer and Mafrey Robinson Radford.

Shirley was a retired seamstress and loved gardening. She was a member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Banks; sisters, Louisa Radford Murray, and Brenda Radford Anglin.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Kim and Christi Banks; a son, Kenny Banks; grandchildren, Holly Isler, Haylea Metcalf, Heath Banks, and Mackenzie Maxwell; and 6 great grandchildren, Allie Isler, Dawson, and Ella Metcalf, Conner and Millie Kate Banks.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 12, 2024, in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverends David Crowder and Jerry Webb will officiate. Burial will follow in West Memorial Park, Weaverville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
