Shirley "Sheryl" Young Heider, 66, of Mars Hill, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021, at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center. She was a lifelong resident of Madison County and the daughter of the late Carl and Theda Young Hudgins.

Sheryl is survived by her husband, Jerry Heider; sons, Kevin, Daniel, and Matthew Edwards; sister, Arlene Metcalf; five grandchildren, one niece and two nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 3:30pm Sunday, September 5, 2021, at Middle Fork Baptist Church, of which she was a member. Reverend Nelson Ponder will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
