Shirley Jeanette Taylor Shook, age 79, of Marshall, passed away July 22, 2024 at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was a daughter of the late Horace and Grace Cody Taylor, born March 6, 1945 in Madison County.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Pender Vernon Shook, and a grandson, Mark Anthony Shook, Jr.

Jeanette owned and operated Shook Grocery, with her late husband, Pender Vernon Shook.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Michelle Shook; son, Mark Anthony Shook, Sr. (Teleda Waldrop); sister, Jean Anderson; grandchildren, Nicole Tomyn (Daniel), and Farrah Banks; six great grandchildren; and special friend, Kathleen Coates.

A time for visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Friday July 26, 2024, in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service.
