IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Stephanie Anne
Warner
December 13, 1965 – December 8, 2023
Stephanie Anne (Butler) Warner, known for her witty humor and endless hospitality, went to be with
the Lord on December 8, 2023, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. She was 57 years old.
Stephanie was born on December 13, 1965, in California to Jennie Medford Butler and the late William
Butler. In addition to her father, Stephanie was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Butler.
Stephanie is survived by her mother, Jennie Butler; long-time partner, Dave Whitson; daughter, Christina
Warner; sons, Jonathan, Jeffrey, Daniel (Tatum), and Andrew Warner; brother, Daniel Butler (Karri); her
grandchildren, Jaxon Warner, Tre and Kash Curry, Avery Roberts, and Raelyn Warner; and her nieces and
nephews, including Jake, Samantha and Kevin Butler, and Matthew Proost.
Stephanie was a passionate and loving mother whose legacy and values live on through her children.
She was a consistent supply of love and support for her family and friends. Her front door remained
open for all the friends her children made throughout the years, earning her the loving name, "Mama
Warner." Many considered her their surrogate mom. Stephanie welcomed so many into her home and
lived her life helping others as a motherly protector and/or a dependable friend, depending on who you
were. A welcoming atmosphere generated around her and all within it were sure to be entertained.
Anyone who came up her driveway was met on the front porch with a warm greeting, open arms, a
contagious smile, and, usually, a funny phrase or joke that would have you holding your belly. She was
an uplifting and caring woman who had a strong appreciation for the simple life, in which she focused
on her values, her relationship with God, and her version of success. She also appreciated the natural
beauties of Western North Carolina, like watching the hummingbirds with a cup of coffee, calling the
turkeys to come visit her yard in the afternoons, and visiting rivers with her friends. May Mama
Warner's laugh echo throughout the generations that follow, and may her unique spirit live on in all the
hearts she's touched during her life. She will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday December 15, 2023, in the Robbie Capps Memorial
