Stern Jackson Thomas, 79, of Weaverville, passed away Friday, December 29, 2023. He was the son of the late Stern and Virginia Thomas and a native of Madison County. Stern is preceded in death by his sister, Patsy Ann Thomas, brother, Robert Thomas, and daughter-in-law, April Thomas. He is a US Army veteran.

Stern is survived by his wife of 57 years, Wanda Ledbetter Thomas; sons, Willard Thomas, and Stern Thomas III (Crysal Peek); grandson, Keith Thomas (Brittany); and great grandchildren, Ruby and Maddie Thomas.
