Steve Szakacs, 85, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. He was born on November 26, 1939, in Romania, to the late Alexander and Piroska Koppanyi Szakacs.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Attila Szucs; brother, Aleander Szakacs; and sister, Mancika Orosz.

Steve was a God loving man, a hard worker, and a great handyman. He enjoyed his garden and loved animals. His granddaughter, Reka, was the apple of his eye.

Steve is survived by his wife of 63 years, Susana Szakacs; daughter, Susan Szucs; son, Steve Szakacs, Jr. (Kathleen); granddaughter, Reka; beloved dog, Layla; as well as friends and family, John Szatmary, George Kovacs, Zita, John, and Peter Darabont and Judy Kovacs. He will be missed tremendously by all.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Sunday, March 30, 2025, in Mars Hill United Methodist Church. Pastor Paula Dempsey will be officiating.
