Obituary

On January 17, 2021, Steven Craig "Rip" Ripley passed away unexpectedly. Steven was born to Mrs. Cora Hennessee of Bailey, NC, on July 21, 1973. He is preceded in death by his father, Melvin Young and stepmother Betty Young.

Steven was a loving father, companion, and friend. He was always supportive in every way. He had a heart of gold and this infectious smile that would light up any room. He enjoyed spending time with his kids, family, friends, fishing and going to church on Sundays.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his significant other, Melody Buckner; daughters, Kierra Ripley, Miah Ripley; stepchildren, Tyler and Jayden Buckner; sisters, Angela and Lakeshia Ripley; brother, Anthony "Amp" Ripley; special aunt, Flora Lee Burnette; five nieces, eight nephews, four great nieces, eight great nephews and many special cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00PM Monday, January 25, 2021 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 11:00 – 12:30PM prior to the service. Flowers will be appreciated and accepted.
