Ted Gordon Williams, 62, of Weaverville, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2018. He was born on Sunday, November 20th, 1955, to Ormand Carvel Sr. and Daphne Miller Williams. Ted was raised on his family farm in Weaverville, NC. He graduated from North Buncombe High School on May 28th, 1974. Ted enlisted in the US Air Force shortly after graduating high school as a Minute Man II Missile Technician. While he was stationed at the Minot, ND Air Force Base, he met his wife of 26 years, Kerrie Diane Welsh. He loved making people laugh and enjoyed all types of music. He always had a smile and a good heart. He is preceded in death by a sister, Myra Williams Taft and special nephew, Michael Sponsel.
He is survived by his daughter, Amanda Sanders (Jeremy); sons, Jeremy Williams (Jessica Coffelt) and James Williams (Delmi); sisters, Millaine Milhaupt and Annette Potts (Joe); brother, Carvel Williams; grandchildren, Breeanne, Haylee, Alycia, Brenna, Andrea, Tyler, Peyton, Allison, and Junior; former wife and special friend, Kerrie Welsh; several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11am Saturday, November 3, 2018, at Robbie Capps Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Jeff Brick will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
