Teddy Dwight Blankenship, 56, of Mars Hill, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025. He was a lifelong resident of Madison County and the son of E.L. and Louise Chandler Blankenship.

Teddy loved spending time with his family and cooking for them. He was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a well organized man who had a green thumb and loved working with plants (specifically his ginseng) he loved music, collecting horror movies and watching WWE with his daughter.

In addition to his parents, Teddy is survived by his loving daughter, Ashley Lynn Blankenship, special sister, Vicky Blankenship, grandson, Caleb, special niece, Nancy Blankenship, three loving aunts, his favorite furry companion, Little Bit, and several cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1pm Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral & Cremation Service. Reverend Doyle Lloyd will officiate. Burial will follow in the Blankenship Cemetery. Ashley Blankenship, Nancy Blankenship, Darrel Chandler, Gary Chandler, Michael Arrington, Craig Boings, Jackie Blankenship, and Analo Phillips will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
