Texie Mae Shelton Rice, 82 of 221 Wooten Cove Road, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Sylvan and Martha Jane Capps Shelton and wife of the late Rev. Joseph Rice. She is also preceded in death by fourteen brothers and sisters. She was a former employee of Mission Hospital. Mrs. Rice is survived by sons; Lincoln Rice, Steven and wife Rachael Rice; granddaughter, Crystal Wishon (Brad) and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM Saturday, November 2, in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service, with Revs. Harold Lewis and Larry Rogers officiating. A private graveside service will be held Sunday, November 3, in the Rice Family Cemetery, with the Rev. Tommy Crowe officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at 227 Wooten Cove Road .
